For forty years (give or take), the four or five crazy guys known as The
Firesign Theatre have pushed the boundaries of audio theatre of the
absurd. Think of Rod Serling wearing a pair of those funny glasses with
the big nose and moustache, or maybe Ringling Bros. & Blade Runner
Circus, and you get the idea. They have created a body of work that
continues to challenge and delight.
This web site is a celebration of their work, an acknowledgement of
their contribution to the cultural milieu, and a personal tip of the hat
to four or five of the funniest guys this side of the shadows.

and just want to download MP3s of the segments directly from the

It's been over eight years since this little FST shrine made its way onto the web, and nearly
as long for any updates to the content. Please accept my sincere apologies for letting things ossify so badly.
Since I have to move a bunch of my sites to a new server on my domain host, it's time I dusted off the
cobwebs and make an effort to freshen things up a bit.
If you haven't already checked it out, the Official Firesign Theatre web site
http://www.firesigntheatre.com is the place to
hang with all your pals from the shadows. There's tons of fun to be had there, and you'll be glad
to hear the fab 4 or 5 are still alive and kicking.
The inimitable, inestimable and indescribable Freditor has finished his new Firesign
Theatre book, "Backwards Into The Future: The Recorded History
of the Firesign Theatre", published by Bear Manor Media.
This is the definitive oral history and timeline of the seriously surreal and subversive
audio artists that shaped a generation, covering every aspect of their lives and careers.
Paypal accepted.
Open to anyone with an internet connection, a web browser and a couple of hours to kill
on Thursday nights starting at 9pm Eastern time (GMT minus 4 or 5 hrs), the Firesign Theatre chat at
http://www.firesigntheatre.com/chat
is a great way to connect with fans of the group and talk about - well, anything and
everything. You never know when one of the 4 or 5 will make an appearance.
We hope you enjoy your visit to these humble pages. If you run into problems or
just want to give me a piece of whatever's left of your mind, use my contact email form.
