A number of years ago, I did some freelance audio production for Jim & Joanne Crossan when they were the morning drive DJs at WICC-AM radio in Bridgeport - now I'm their webmaster.

They got out of the DJ business and started a comedy-by-subscription service for DJs, The Morning Punch. They've been doing the Punch for over ten years, and have a loyal clientele.

Voicetracks is a new "virtual radio show" service they started in early 2000. It's a radical idea, geared for stations which use a good deal of computer-driven audio gear to automate their broadcasts: Voicetracks subscribers get pre-recorded C&C DJ segments which can be easily dropped into the stations' playlists. The segments are geared to fit existing programming schedules, and the material (particularly bumpers & station IDs) is tailored to the radio station and the surrounding area. Although pre-recorded, the segments sound as if C&C are there in the radio station's studio.

Jim gave me the pix & text, I came up with the layout and encoded the sample audio segments.
